www.theuncommongardencompany.co.uk/ www.facebook.com/The-Uncommon-Garden-Company Let me introduce myself, I am Ann Fitzsimons and I live here in the lovely Co Down countryside. The Uncommon Garden Company has been my dream for at least 6 years, and was the reason I left my 20 year Medical Rep career in 2003. After a two year course in Horticulture at Greenmount College, I was ready to begin and in 2007 I started growing herbaceous perennial plants. The majority of the plants are grown from seed or cutting , using peat free compost and organic principles of pest control and feeding. I try to grow interesting plants, species plants, plants which are perhaps out of vogue but which I think deserve garden space. So the selection is quite personal, but I am happy to respond to customer demand - so long as I like your choice! Essentially the manpower is just me (womanpower). This single handed structure and the fact that we live up a shared single track lane does mean that I can only open the nursery by appointment. I am happy to see you but please do call first, as shopping and the essentials of life sometimes take me off site. If you need help with garden design, plant placement or ideas for planting plans, I am happy to assist. Also I can be persuaded to talk to groups such as gardening clubs, but beware when I get interested in a subject I can get carried away (semaphore signals from the back of the room will usually stop me!). I try to attend most of the plant fairs, Mount Stewart, Rowallan, Garden Show Ireland etc. On the first Thursday of every month (except January) I can be found at Comber Market, St Mary’s car park, The Square, Comber. 32 Killyleagh Road Killinchy Co Down BT23 6TD 07706 110367 [email protected]
