www.saintmaren.com www.twitter.com/SaintMaren Saint Maren was born in early 2011 out of a desire to make bathing a sensory pleasure. Our natural handmade soaps are only ever made using natural ingredients and without commercial preservatives or detergents. As for fragrance, we prefer the subtlety of pure essential oils to chemical fragrance oils - from smoky, woody notes to refreshing citrus or gentle florals to uplift and soothe the spirit. We intend for each of our natural soaps to be as much a skin treatment as a cleanser, so we include a combination of cocoa and shea butters and almond, olive, avocado and jojoba oils in our various soap bases. This means that our soaps are favoured by people with sensitive skin and for those suffering from eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis. Our soaps are handmade in the Saint Maren Workshop which is based in a 180-year old stone barn looking out over the rolling hills of County Down in Northern Ireland down to the sea. We take pride in making small batches using traditional craft methods. Our soap bars are made using the age-old cold process method. Luxury blends of oils and butters are carefully mixed with a lye solution and then poured into wooden soap moulds and left to set overnight. They are then cut and cured under muslin for four weeks before each soap is hand wrapped. Unlike commercial soap production, this method locks in glycerin to protect your skin’s natural moisture levels which means that Saint Maren soap won’t leave your skin feeling ‘tight’ after washing. Our liquid soaps are made using the traditional hot-process method. We first blend our luxury oils and lye to make a paste and then add water and simmer the mixture over a low heat before finally adding essential oils. It can take a day to make soap in this way, but the resulting soap has a silky finish that will leave your skin feeling beautifully moisturised. Our natural skincare range is carefully blended individually to ensure maximum freshness and effectiveness. Saint Maren knows the importance of living life in the present through simple daily pleasures. It is these small things that make life beautiful. [email protected] +44 (0) 7737 286020
